My ‘Style Psyche’
By kathrynedmonds in Style
Welcome aboard my virtual ‘pin board’ & the shiny new patch of cyber space that will, from this point on, showcase some of my favourite new discoveries as well as update you on anything new happening in my little *styleasphere*.
For those who know me, recognise i am a lover of all things Fashion/Style/Trend/Design/Interiors related & i have also been known to be partial to a cute “French Bulldog” pic or two, but for those new this blog i’d like to introduce myself….
To kick things off, i thought it only appropriate to dedicate my very first blog post to my own personal ‘style psyche’ & give you all a tiny insight into some of my all time favourite trends, fashion items & accessories that i simply cannot function without.
Of course, helping others discover what works best for them is the highlight of what i do, however it all starts with knowing where my own loyalties lay when it comes to selecting the standout items, as well as the basics, that define my wardrobe each season.
Here are some of my top (personal) ‘essentials’ & some of the trademark trends that i am known to be lost without;
1) The ‘Boyfriend’ Blazer
I am slightly embarrassed to admit how many blazers are within my ownership however i find i get MORE than multiple wears out of every purchase given the classic, structured and timeless nature of a good quality cut.
2) The Shirt Dress
The ‘Vixen of Versatility’ A shirt dress is perfect combination of comfort & style. So many ways to wear the one item means this piece works hard in my wardrobe & is worn over and over & OVER again!
3) The loose fitted blouse/tee /collared shirt
Never underestimate the power of a crisp white collared shirt worn effortlessly with something slightly unconventional. I’m a big believer in a strategic ‘tuck in’ to add shape, definition and proportion to your overall look.
4) The Super Skinny Jeans/Pants
In order to compliment the last look of a loose top, the super skinny jeans or pants are by far the gospel/go-to item to tie the whole outfit together. I LIVE in my skinnies & would be lost without this wardrobe essential.
5) The Statement necklace
I’m a sucker for a statement necklace & this is my ‘cheat card’ when all else fails. No time to duck to the shops to buy a new dress? Never fear if a statement necklace is near. The simplest (& usually cheapest) way to update your look whilst keep current with the seasonal trends.
